RBI Study for Offshore Operator, UK

When an existing client acquired multiple heritage assets, Penspen reviewed and updated the existing risk assessments and inspection schedules for the newly acquired pipelines, aligning the pipeline RBIs across all of the client's assets.

The RBI output identified inspection activity improvements, providing the client with the opportunity to reduce future CAPEX while managing risk.

Technical Talk

Evaluation of RBI Methodologies

There are a variety of different systems and methodologies to use when conducting risk assessments of energy assets, with each methodology being required to be correctly applied to the specific profile of the operation.

In a new insight paper, one of Penspen's integrity experts outlines and evaluates the effectiveness of three common RBI approaches.

Industry Voices

RBI Assessment - Best Practices

Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) has proven to be one of the most profitable maintenance methodologies to date, but some pitfalls can impact the risk potential of an asset and reduce overall inspection performance.

By creating an optimal RBI setting, energy operators can benefit from improved project quality, delivery, and general assessment standards.
